The Music Society of San Miguel (MSSM) proudly presents the 2026 Chamber Music Festival, a celebration of artistic excellence, music education, and cultural exchange in San Miguel de Allende. Bringing together internationally acclaimed artists and distinguished ensembles, the festival offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience world-class music while fostering artistic development and community engagement.
The festival opens on July 10, at the historic Teatro Ángela Peralta with the Trio Ritter/Bitrán, featuring violinist Arón Bitrán, cellist Álvaro Bitrán, and pianist Rodolfo Ritter. Arón and Álvaro Bitrán are founding members of the internationally celebrated Cuarteto Latinoamericano, recipient of multiple Latin Grammy Awards and Mexico’s National Prize for Arts and Sciences. Joining them is Rodolfo Ritter, one of Latin America’s leading pianists and winner of the Gold Medal and First Prize at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona. On August 6, the acclaimed Trio Barclay—Dennis Kim (violin), Jonah Kim (cello), and Sean Kennard (piano)— Trio Barclay returns to the concert stage with a program dedicated to contemporary American chamber music. Since its debut in 2021, Trio Barclay has earned international recognition and became the first Ensemble-in-Residence in the history of California’s Irvine Barclay Theatre.
Pianist Sean Kennard is a laureate of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition, while the ensemble has gained acclaim for championing new music and engaging audiences through innovative programming.
The festival concludes on August 8, at Foro Cultural El Obraje with The Baroque Experience, a special collaboration between Trio Barclay and Camerata Allende presented as part of the Festival de las Artes de San Miguel de Allende (FASMA). The program features masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi, bringing together international soloists and one of the region’s leading orchestral ensembles.
MSSM will present Beyond the Music, an exclusive gala benefiting the organization’s educational and cultural initiatives, as well as masterclasses for piano and string students led by members of Trio Barclay.
